You're reading: Boryspil Airport sees rise in passenger flow for January-May

Kyiv's Boryspil International Airport state-run enterprise from January to May 2012 saw an increase in passenger flows of 10% year-over-year, to 2.947 million passengers.

As the airport’s press service reported, the airport handled 38,221 flights over the five months: 19,123 departures and 19,098 arrivals.

The general number of processed cargos grew by 17%, to 13,785 tonnes, while mail soared by 6%, to 2,265 tonnes.

Moreover, about 740,000 passengers used the services of the airport in May this year, which is 7% more than in May 2011. At the same time, 8,543 flights were serviced.

As reported, in 2011 Boryspil airport saw its passenger flow increase by 20%, to eight million passengers.

Boryspil International Airport occupies a site of about 1,000 hectares. It has two runways: one 4,000 meters long and 60 meters wide, and another 3,500 meters long and 63 meters wide. The airport has four passenger terminals and a mail and cargo complex.
