The Ukrainian parliament has determined that milk and dairy products are subject to state price regulation.

A total of 293 out of 413 lawmakers registered in the session hall on June 7, 2012 supported a law amending the law on the state support of agriculture in Ukraine.

According to the law, raw milk and diary products are included on the list of foodstuffs that are subject to state price regulation.

The law says that wholesale and retail companies, processing companies and storage organizations, and individual businessmen who store the said products, are to pay suppliers of goods that are under state price regulation in a period of no more than seven banking days from the moment they obtain the products.

The law also bans the above-mentioned entities from buying milk and dairy products from suppliers without the signing of sale and purchase agreements.
