Dnipropetrovsk is trying to promote green tourism
Jun 25, 2009 at 21:17This month its residents presented a new walking route for Ukrainian and foreign tourists, called “Following the trail of Cossack Mamai.” The route starts in the ancient village of Kytaigorod, located on the banks of the river Oril, which residents praise as the cleanest in Europe. It runs along a number of historical 18th century churches, including Uspenska, Mykolaivska and bell tower church of St. Barbara, to the mountain of Kalytva. The trail ends in the village of Rudka at the bottom of the mountain. The surrounding scenery, Ukrainian songs, humor and culture are a part of the green tourism experience.
