Tymoshenko gets bird’s eye view of new sun oil plant
Jul 9, 2009 at 19:42Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko (center) on July 3 visited this new factory in Kirovohrad Oblast, which produces cooking and food oils from sunflower and other oil-based crops. The factory was built by Creativ Group, one of Ukraine’s largest vegetable oil producers. Sunflower oil production is big business. The country ranks as one of the world’s top three suppliers, along with Argentina and neighboring Russia. Investment bank Dragon Capital said Creativ Group pumped $42 million into the new, energy-efficient factory. The plant will use seed husk as a fuel to replace natural gas. Creativ plans to generate $75 million in revenues from the new plant in 2009.
