The Yurydychna Praktyka (Practice of Law) newspaper has completed a study entitled "The 50 leading Ukrainian law firms in 2009."

The Vasyl Kysyl and Partners law firm was again the leading firm. The Magisters law firm took the leading position in terms of the number of lawyers, at 85 persons, and in terms of its income. The Gvozdiy and Oberkovych law firm was named the most financially efficient law company.

The study included five separate ratings: income, number of lawyers, financial efficiency, rating of recognition and a summery table "The 50 leading Ukrainian law firms in 2009," compiled in line with the given indicators, a press release of the newspaper reported.

According to the newspaper, the country's top ten law firms included Magisters, Asters, Sayenko Kharenko, Baker & McKenzie-CIS, Limited, CMS Cameron McKenna LLC, Konnov & Sozanovsky, Volkov Koziakov & Partners, ANK, and DLA Piper Ukraine LLC.

Moreover, the study took into account the monitoring of deals/legal cases over 12 months (fourth quarter of 2008 and three quarters of 2009); the biggest public cases, the biggest public cases in the sphere of anti-monopoly rights, the biggest public court (arbitration) cases. Public disputes in the sphere of taxation were considered separately.
