Wall Street Journal: Alfa, Telenor amended Kyivstar-Vimpelcom merger ratio

MOSCOW (Dow Jones)--Russia's Alfa Group and Norway's Telenor ASA (TEL.OS) had hoped to give minority shareholders in OAO Vimpel Communications a smaller interest in Kyivstar, as part of their agreement to combine their commonly-held assets, according to a prospectus issued to minority shareholders. Alfa and Telenor together own more that three quarters of VimpelCom, Russia's second-largest telecommunications operator, but own all of Kyivstar, Ukraine's largest mobile firm. The two investors want to fold the two telecoms companies into a new firm VimpelCom Ltd.Read the story here.
