You're reading: Finance Ministry allocates Hr 1 billion to pension fund

The Finance Ministry has provided the Pension Fund with UAH 1 billion for payment of pensions.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the Finance Ministry.

"Thanks to determined actions of the government sources have been found and on March 19 UAH 1 billion was provided to the Pension Fund of Ukraine as loan from the national budget to secure payments of pensions in full," reads the statement.

According to the statement, the pensions will be further paid in compliance with the endorsed schedule.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Finance Minister Fedir Yaroshenko on March 13 said the deficit of the Pension Fund of Ukraine is UAH 29.8 billion.

On February 24, 2010, the Secretariat of then President Viktor Yuschenko said the deficit of the Pension Fund in 2010 will be UAH 18.17 billion. The Secretariat of President on February 5 said the deficit of the national budget of Ukraine was UAH 7.4 billion in January 2010.
