The Dnipropetrovsk Regional Court of Appeal on March 23 sentenced the organizer of the murder of Vladimir Vorobiov, deputy director of the open joint stock company Central Market (Dnipropetrovsk), to 15 years in prison.

A representative of the court told this to Ukrainian News.

‘To 15 years in prison with confiscation of property," he said.

The court representative said two accomplices in the murder of Vorobiov have been sentenced to 10 and 12 years in prison.

The court has not established who ordered the murder.

Alexander Vorobiov, the father of the murdered Vladimir Vorobiov, told Ukrainian News that the court sentenced Oleksandr Borysenko, who was the organizer and the direct executor of the murder, to 15 years in prison.

"I asked for life imprisonment, but I was refused… There were eight men in the group. The others are on the run," he noted.

The father of the murdered Vladimir Vorobiov said he would not appeal against the verdict.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Russian citizen Vladimir Vorobiov was shot near the Saliut cinema in Dnipropetrovsk in the early hours of December 16, 2006.
