St. Petersburg, May 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine and Belarus will be able to reach an understanding concerning the tariff for transporting Venezuelan oil through the territory of Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at a press conference in St. Petersburg last week.

Azarov said he discussed this issue at a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Sidorsky during a meeting of the Council of Prime Ministers of the CIS member states.

"We discussed this possibility and, as always, Belarus brought up the issue of reducing the tariff for oil transportation. We, on the contrary, want our railways to be profitable. But we agreed that our deputy prime ministers in charge of these issues – Semashko (First Vice Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko) and Kliuyev (First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Kliuyev) would study this matter and outline a compromise. I think we’ll find a compromise," Azarov said.
