You're reading: Yanukovych: Government should take control of tender procedures

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych believes that the government should take control of all the tender procedures, which will be conducted in the ministries, agencies, committees and regions of Ukraine.

The president said this during a meeting with Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in Crimea, the presidential press service reported on Tuesday.

Yanukovych said that these procedures should be conducted openly and transparently in compliance with the requirements of the government procurement law.

"I have received another letter from the Accounting Chamber. We again have corruption in state procurement… Where an official has an access to a regulatory approval system, he uses this for his benefit," the president noted.
