You're reading: Banks report losses of Hr 8.3 billion

The total loss of the Ukrainian commercial banks for the January-June period made up Hr 8,306.142 million, the National Bank of Ukraine has reported. In this period, banks' revenues totalled to Hr 65,176.436 million and expenses - Hr 73,482.578 million.

As of July 1, banks’ assets amounted to Hr 885.572 billion, and general assets Hr 1,019.703 billion.

Shareholders’ equity as of July 1 amounted to Hr 127.162 billion.

176 banks were registered in Ukraine as of July 1, including 18 banks undergoing the liquidation process (16 by NBU’s decisions, 2 by court decisions).

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the total loss of the Ukrainian commercial banks for the January-May period totalled to Hr 7,473.245 million. In the January-May period, banks’ revenues were Hr 53,917.236 million and expenses – Hr 61,390.481 million.

Banks’ revenues were Hr 143.1 billion and expenses Hr 171.1 billion in 2009.
