Ukrainian pipe companies in January-July 2010 increased ferrous metal pipe production by 1.7% year-over-year, to 913,800 tonnes.

The Dnipropetrovsk-based Ukrtruboprom association told Interfax-Ukraine that in July 137,900 tonnes of pipes were produced.

Ukrtruboprom said that in January-July pipe production at Khartsyzsk Pipe Plant plunged.

The association said that Russia cancelled import duties on steel pipes made by Interpipe, which slightly improved the situation with their sales, although it is not enough.

Market players say that in July the prices of pipes continued growing, which affected their sales.

"Currently stagnation on the market linked to hot weather is seen," experts said.
