Government macroeconomic forecast to be included in draft 2011 draft budget
Sep 3, 2010 at 12:20 | Interfax-Ukraine"The discrepancy in the estimates [of the government and the National Bank of Ukraine] is a good thing, because it means that there is a discussion, rather than team economics... This discrepancy should be used as a basis while drafting the state budget for 2011," she told reporters in Kyiv on Friday.
"The public will focus on the assessments that become the basis of the 2011 budget, which I hope will be adopted this autumn," Akimova said.
As reported, the NBU predicted inflation in Ukraine in 2010 at 10.5% and in 2011 at 11.2% against the background of a slowdown in GDP growth. In its opinion, GDP growth in 2010 is estimated at 4% and in 2011 at 3.7%.
The Ukrainian government, unlike the National Bank of Ukraine, expects GDP growth in 2010 at 3.7% and inflation at 13.1% and in 2011 at 4.5% and 8.9% respectively.
