The State Commission on Securities and the Stock Market is intending to encourage Ukrainian issuers to perform an initial public offering (IPO) on domestic stock exchanges and assist in creating more comfortable conditions for the public's participation in securities placement, commission member Oleksiy Petrashko said when presenting the project "Programs of the development of Ukraine's stock market for 2011-2015" at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

"We are trying to provide issuers with maximum regulatory comfort, make securities placement more loyal for those, who offer new instruments on the market, if they correspond to their investment features," he said.

In addition, Petrashko said that the commission would try to make IPOs available for retail investors.

"Actually, currently the procedure is complicated due to the number of reasons. We will try to remove the maximum number of obstacles," Petrashko said.
