Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said he "positively" estimates the economic situation in Ukraine.

When asked by journalists in Kharkiv on Saturday to name the results of the fight against the crisis in the country, Azarov said: "I assess the state [of our economy] as generally positive."

"The leaders of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund made a good assessment of what Ukraine has achieved to stabilize the economy and the government system," he said.

Azarov said that agricultural and construction sectors were priorities for the Cabinet of Ministers.

He noted that the government was planning soon to purchase over two million tonnes of grain, and added that grain stocks in Ukraine’s regions would total about one million tonnes.
