The Ukrainian cabinet has started reformation of National JSC Naftogaz Ukrainy, which would allow making the holding profitable.

The department of information and mass communication of the cabinet’s secretariat reported that Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov gave this information at a meeting with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn in Kyiv on Friday.

The Ukrainian premier said that Ukraine approved a very important law on the gas market and recently joined the European Energy Charter.

"Thus, we’re starting reformation of Naftogaz’s system, which allows us making companies, which are operating in the gas extraction and transportation sector, profitable," Azarov said.

The premier also said that the cabinet plans to study international experience to efficiently carry out pension reform in Ukraine.

"Now we’re working on a draft pension reform, and experience of other countries in the issue is very valuable… Consultations of your specialists are very important for us… Our government definitely plans to conduct reforms in Ukraine. We want to prepare them thoroughly, so to make as less mistakes as possible," Azarov said.
