You're reading: Ukraine, Russia agree on cross-border cooperation for next six years

Ukraine and Russia have signed a program of interregional and cross-border cooperation for 2011-2016.

The signing ceremony for bilateral documents took place on Monday after the first Russian-Ukrainian interregional economic forum in Gelendzhik in Russia.

Ukrainian Regional Development and Construction Volodymyr Yatsuba Vladimir and Russian Regional Development Minister Viktor Basardin signed the document.

The parties also signed a protocol on cooperation between the Russian and Ukrainian unions of industrialists and entrepreneurs on joint actions to deepen bilateral interregional and business cooperation.

Krasnodar Krai Governor Alexander Tkachev and Zaporizhia Regional Governor Borys Petrov signed an action plan to implement an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation in 2011-2012.

The first Russian-Ukrainian interregional economic forum in Gelendzhik was chaired by Ukrainian and Russian Presidents Viktor Yanukovych and Dmitry Medvedev.
