The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is ready to participate in the co-financing of the acquisition of 92.79% of stocks in OJSC Ukrtelecom, EBRD First Vice President Varel Freeman told Interfax-Ukraine.

In his words, the EBRD could help potential buyers of Ukrtelecom to finance the acquisition and participate in shared financing in a consortium which will be announced the winner of the [Ukrtelecom] tender.

Freeman also said that the Bank is ready to work with any of the bidders and does not give preference to any of them.

In his words, the EBRD will participate in shared financing only if the Ukrtelecom tender is held on a transparent and competitive basis.

As was reported, the State Property Fund on Oct. 13, 2010, called a tender to sell a 92.97% state stale in OJSC Ukrtelecom at an auction. The tender is scheduled for Dec. 28, 2010, the starting price of the stockholding is fixed at Hr 10.5 billion.
