The growth in industrial production in Ukraine in October 2010 totalled over 11.5%, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at a meeting with representatives of a mission from the European Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Kyiv on Friday.

"In October, the growth in industrial production was more than 11.5%. We are also calculating the parameters with respect to GDP growth," the government’s press service quoted him as saying.

Azarov said that monetary figures had significantly improved.

As reported, industrial production in Ukraine grew by 10.2% in September 2010 year-on-year, by 9.2% in August 2010, by 6.4% in July 2010 and by 8.9% in June 2010.

In the first nine months of 2010, industrial production in the country grew by 10.8% compared to the same period of 2009, while in January-August 2010 the growth reached 10.9%, and in January-July 2010 it was 11.1%.

In 2009, industrial output in Ukraine dropped by 21.9%.
