You're reading: Government cancels land tax for space companies

The Ukrainian government has approved a list of companies in the space sector that would not pay tax on industrial land plots until January 1, 2015, which is in line with the Tax Code.

According to cabinet resolution No. 1248 of December 29, 2010, the list includes 17 companies.

Makarov Yuzhmash engineering plant (Dnipropetrovsk, 578.29 hectares), Pavlohrad Mechanical Plant (Dnipropetrovsk region, 3,636.4 hectares), Pavlohrad Chemical Plant (Dnipropetrovsk region, 532 hectares), OJSC CheZaRa (Chernihiv, 10.5 hectares), OJSC Azovobschemash (Mariupol, Donetsk region, 7.7 hectares), Arsenal design bureau (Kyiv, 7.4 hectares), Lviv’s LORTA plant (9.19 hectares), OJSC Hartron (Kharkiv, 2.59 hectares), Hartron-Arkos (Kharkiv, 0.64 hectares), Hartron-Plant (Kharkiv, 5.76 hectares), Kommunar (Kharkiv, 19.574 hectares), OJSC Research Radio Engineering Institute (NIIRI, Kharkiv, 2.4 hectares), Kyivprylad (1.6 hectares), OJSC Kyiv Radio Plant (1.44 hectares), Kharkiv Transport Equipment Plant (24.45 hectares), OJSC ELMIZ (Kyiv, 0.96 hectares) and Ukrainian Research Technologic Elastomer Institute (Dnipropetrovsk, 8.88 hectares) received benefits.

The National Space Agency of Ukraine was instructed to controlling the correspondence of the companies with the Tax Code and draw up proposals to amend the list if it is required.

The National Space Agency of Ukraine manages 34 space companies.
