You're reading: Ukraine distributes grain export quotas

The commission of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine at a meeting on Jan. 11, 2011 distributed grain export quotas of 2.018 million tonnes, according to the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC).

According to the copies of documents from the ministry posted on the UAC’s website, 15 companies got the right to export a total of 500,000 tonnes of wheat and 26 companies received the right to export a total of 1.518 million tonnes of corn.

The UAC said that the quota on corn exports was distributed taking into account maize ending stocks undistributed by Dec. 31, 2010.

According to the confederation, Khlib Investbud, belonging to state-owned JSC Khlib Ukrainy, gained the right to supply 221,000 tonnes of wheat and 544,000 tonnes of corn.

The UAC said that in general the companies submitted applications for the export by late March of 542,000 tonnes of wheat and 1.676 million tonnes of corn.
