AvtoKrAZ holding company (Kremenchuk, Poltava region), the only Ukrainian producer of heavy trucks, plans to produce a first cab-over-engine KrAZ truck with a cab made by France's Renault.

The company’s press service reported on Tuesday that currently the cab is being adjusted to fit the bonnet-free KrAZ truck model.

It is planned that the cab would be put on the six-wheeler cab-over-engine trucks used in the public services sector in Ukraine.

This is a first step in production cooperation between AvtoKrAZ and Renault. AvtoKrAZ specialists selected Renault Kerax cab for their trucks.

The press service said that the trucks are made to order. The name of the customer is not disclosed. The order could be increased in the future.

Renault Trucks supplies the cabs. French specialists would fit first cabs.

"The installation of the Renault cab will not affect the price of the truck, but the combination of KrAZ’s strong chassis and the famous brand and European quality of Renault will make the Ukrainian truck more attractive to buyers," the press service said.

The KrAZ logo will be used instead of the Renault log on the cabs.

"The excellent ergonomic characteristics of the driver seat: a comfortable seat with pneumatic suspension, a steering column adjustable in height and angle, and a convenient dashboard will ensure driver comfort," the press service said.

Renault Trucks is a world’s leader in automobile building.

AvtoKrAZ makes 28 basic vehicle models, and more than 260 modifications and trim levels of civilian and military vehicles. The company’s trucks are in use in more than 60 countries.
