You're reading: Tymoshenko slams IMF for legitimizing corruption in Ukraine

Opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko said the International Monetary Fund has, according to information sheheard, agreed to give Ukraine another tranche of $1.5 billion, in turn legitimizing massive corruption sponsored by the camp of her political foe, President Viktor Yanukovych.

"I’m shocked. We’ve just received the letter between Ukraine and IMF saying that Ukraine [is to recieve] $1.5 billion," she wrote on her Twitter account.

Thus, Tymoshenko says, authorities have "legitimized corruption" while "taking the last of wages from Ukrainians."

Yanukovych’s administration has repeatedly denied wrongdoing.

Tymoshenko pledged to give a press conference on Feb. 25 after her lawyers study the documents.
