Nov 12, 2009 at 21:12Kathleen Hennessey has been appointed as the new consul general at the United States Embassy in Kyiv.
Hennessey comes to Kyiv after serving in diplomatic positions for the U.S. State Department in various countries, including the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Venezuela and Germany. She has also worked at the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C., where she mainly handled regional affairs and refugee issues between overseas tours.
Hennessey is a graduate of Georgetown University and Universidad Simon Bolivar, as well as the National War College at Ft. McNair, Washington, D.C. She is fluent in Spanish, German and has good working knowledge of Thai and Ukrainian.
