Nov 19, 2009 at 21:21 | Kateryna Grushenkowas appointed general director of Volia, the leading cable television and internet provider in Kyiv. Franke comes to Volia with a vast amount experience in the telecommunications and broader IT sectors in Ukraine and the CIS region. From November 2007 through July 2009, Franke worked as general director and country manager of Microsoft Ukraine, a position which also covered the global software giant’s activities in Belarus. Before that, Franke headed Russian operator Komstar–OTS, held the post of vice president of Moscow-based Mobile TeleSystems and also served as director general of Ukrainian Mobile Communications, today known as the MTS mobile phone service company. Franke, a native of Holland, graduated from Delft University of Technology with a degree in telecommunications.
