Today the Ukrainian stock market remained almost frozen, Tiger Asset Management reported. By noon, 67 trades were conducted with only some 11 deals during the trading period. Total trading volume made up $4 million.

The index basket leaders were Azovstal (+6.25 percent), Zakhidenergo (+4.17). The biggest losers were Ukravto with a 22.86 percent drop and Kharkivoblenergo, which fell 80.19 percent.

Taking into account the low activity of market participants, growing political instability and the falling hryvnia rate, it is expected that the index may have a slight rise by the end of the day.

The PFTS' year-high peak of 1198.22 came on Jan. 17 and followed a 130 percent rise in 2007. Since the start of the year, the PFTS index has fallen by more than 75 percent from 1160.34.
