Number of job vacancies fell by one third in second quarter of 2008

The financial crisis has had a serious effect on the number of job vacancies, as employers posted 402,000 vacancies in July through December 2007 and only 270,000 vacancies, or 32% less, over a similar period in 2008, Interfax-Ukraine learned on the Web site www.jooble.com.ua.

According to the annual outlook of the Web site, which collects information about vacancies and resumes from across the Internet, the overall number of vacancies fell by 19% in 2008, to 640,100, while in 2007, their number rose by 52%.
