Berlin, January 7 (Interfax) - Ukraine is obliged to fulfill its commitments as a gas transitor state, Vice President of Russia's Gazprom Alexander Medvedev announced Tuesday.

Ukraine obliged to fulfill gas transit commitments - Gazprom

"The terms of the current gas transit contract were coordinated in 2005-2006 and will remain in force for at least two years, so there is no absolutely reason for the latest moves on the part of Ukraine," he told reporters in Berlin after talks with German Economy Minister Michael Glos.

Gazprom sees no grounds for reviewing the contract, A. Medvedev said.

"The transit contract was not just signed, it has been implemented for three years afterwards and Ukraine has been receiving money under this contract. There are no grounds for reviewing it," he said
