Sochi, January 9 (Interfax) - Russia will no longer offer Ukraine privileges or discount prices for any commodities, including natural gas, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting with Gazprom head Alexei Miller on Friday.

"The future financial model, which, by the way, should be created by all countries, needs to be governed by universal regulators, including those related to prices. That is why, I believe, we should not use any privileges or any special advantages in relation with any states. If we have a price, it has to be normal, balanced and Europe-oriented, including for Ukraine. There should be no discounts or preferences. Ukrainians should pay the same price as Europeans," Medvedev said.

This is the only way to ensure the competitiveness of the Ukrainian economy and the stability of its political system, he said.
