Unidentified assailants assault top manager at Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih steel mill

Three unidentified individuals assaulted Oleksandr Zozulia, the director of general affairs at Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih steel plant (Dnipropetrovsk region), on July 3.

A representative of the public relations center at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Police Department announced this to Ukrainian News.

"The director was attacked in the morning near the entrance to the building in which he lived," the representative said.

According to the representative, the number of people that attacked Zozulia and their motives have not yet been determined.

"The victim is presently at the municipal hospital with injuries. His condition is average," he said.

He also said that police were conducting an investigation and considering whether to file a criminal case.

Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih is the largest ore mining and metallurgical plant in Ukraine. It is owned by Arcelor Mittal, the world’s largest steel producer, and reported a net profit of Hr 4.676 billion for the year 2008.
