Kyiv, September 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Donetsk-based Altcom financial and industrial group, which is the chief constructor of the Donetsk airport construction project and the builder of its new runway, is ready to finish the construction and reconstruction of the airport building by January 15, 2011 if financing is stable, reads a posting on the company's Web site.

“On January 15, 2011 the airport will be completed,” says report, citing the group’s board chairman, Oleksandr Tislenko.

Altcom’s Deputy Director General Mykhailo Kovalev told Interfax-Ukraine that the said terms are stipulated in a contract on construction signed between Altcom and Donetsk regional state administration.

The contract is worth UAH 1.3 billion, and the sum could be changed after the final approval of the project, which is being designed by architects from Croatia. Work at the airport would start in October 2009, he said.

Kovalev said that if in May 2010 it were clear that the budget financing is not enough for the construction of the new airport building, the group would stop work at the objects and an alternative option proposed by Siemens Ukraine would be realized, which foresees the construction of a temporary reserve passenger terminal within eight months.
