Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has commemorated the victims of the Babi Yar massacre, the presidential press service has reported.

The ceremony was also attended by Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, and Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

The head of state laid a wreath at the monument at the Babi Yar National Historical and Memorial Reserve in Kyiv.

The participants in the ceremony honored Babi Yar victims with a minute of silence.
