You're reading: Boryspil ranks among the worst airports in the world

Kyiv’s international airport Boryspil came fifth in the ranking of the worst airports, presented by a review-driven website “The Guide to Sleeping in Airports.”

The least favorite airports have been evaluated by the travelers according to safety concerns, convenience of facilities, quality service, and bribery.

The prevalent complaint about Boryspil is poor level of service, shortage of seats and small size. In the line for “redeeming qualities” on the site, the website says “none.”

The least favorite airport on the list is in the Philippines’ capital Manila, allegedly for long lines, poor facilities and luggage theft.

Other airports preceding Boryspil are Reykjavik airport in Iceland, Beauvais in Paris and Bergamo in Italy.

Despite Boryspil’s very low ranking, its reviews are diverse and include some positive comments. Boryspil’s new Terminal D is currently under construction, but is set launch the first flight on March 25, 2012.

According to Borys Kolesnikov, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, the new terminal will have the capacity to host from 10 to 15 million passengers.

The annual survey is based on polls and surveys held on the site, traveller airport reviews, Facebook comments and information provided on airport web sites or directly from airports, reports Korrespondent.
