You're reading: Quarantine imposed in three districts of Kyiv because of rabies in animals

Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) has introduced quarantine restrictions in Podilsky, Obolon and Dniprovsky districts of the capital city after the corpses of rabid dogs and cats were found there.

"Quarantine restrictions were introduced on the territory of Podilsky, Obolon and Dniprovsky districts of the capital city after the cases of animal rabies were registered," the press service quoted first deputy chairman of Kyiv City Administration Oleksandr Mazurchak.

According to Kyiv City State Administration, rabies was detected in two dogs and a cat.

"It was decided to urgently hold immunization of animals against rabies in the area of quarantine. They should also ensure clinical examination and quarantine of animals with suspected rabies," Mazurchak said.

Dog and cat show will be banned during the quarantine, which will last for 60 days,
