Businessman Rinat Akhmetov has stated that he will not allow the destruction of the architecture of Andriyivsky Uzviz and confirmed that ESTA Holding had opted not to build a business center in this street.
The businessman thanked to all citizens concerned over the problem.
"Andriyivsky Uzviz is a symbol of Kyiv, its history, and I would like to thank every one who cares about the problem," Akhmetov said."ESTA Holding examined Kyiv residents’ opinion, and decided not to build the business center in March. Unfortunately, two gross mistakes were made following this decision. First of all, the company’s actions were not coordinated, and, secondly, they were not explained to the community. Thus, the main principles of SCM – fairness and transparency – were broken," the businessman said.
In addition, Akhmetov promised that his company would eliminate the damage caused to the architecture of Andriyivsky Uzviz."I promise that SCM will restore the authentic appearance of the damaged facades. In addition, we will help the city to restore Andriyivsky Uzviz," the businessman said.ESTA Holding is the managing company for Esta Group, a real estate holding of SCM Group.
