Businessman Rinat Akhmetov has stated that he will not allow the destruction of the architecture of Andriyivsky Uzviz and confirmed that ESTA Holding had opted not to build a business center in this street.

The businessman thanked to all citizens concerned over the problem.

"Andriyivsky Uzviz is a symbol of Kyiv, its history, and I would like to thank every one who cares about the problem," Akhmetov said."ESTA Holding examined Kyiv residents’ opinion, and decided not to build the business center in March. Unfortunately, two gross mistakes were made following this decision. First of all, the company’s actions were not coordinated, and, secondly, they were not explained to the community. Thus, the main principles of SCM – fairness and transparency – were broken," the businessman said.

In addition, Akhmetov promised that his company would eliminate the damage caused to the architecture of Andriyivsky Uzviz."I promise that SCM will restore the authentic appearance of the damaged facades. In addition, we will help the city to restore Andriyivsky Uzviz," the businessman said.ESTA Holding is the managing company for Esta Group, a real estate holding of SCM Group. ESTA Holding acts as an investor and developer as well as managing strategically commercial, hotel, and residential real estate.

Esta Group includes commercial property as well as facilities under construction (including second phase of construction of the Leonardo Business Center, Kyiv’s TsUM (closed for refurbishment), the Opera Hotel, a mixed-use complex at Frolovskaya street in Kyiv, the Donbass Palace and Park Inn hotels, the Pushkinskiy mixed-use complex in Donetsk, a logistics complex in Dnipropetrovsk, and a land bank of about 70 hectares.
