Monument to Kosior in Kyiv The Kyiv city state administration is planning to pull down the monument to Soviet-era public figure Stanislav Kosior located in the park on Artema Street, Shevchenkivskyi district, by Nov. 22, the city administration's press service told Ukrainian News.

The Directorate for Restoration and Reconstruction initiated the demolition, while the Shevchenkivskyi district administration is tasked with equipping the adjacent territory with modern amenities.

The Directorate has to preserve the monument to Kosior until a new place for the demolished sculpture is chosen.

The Kyiv city state administration will have decided upon the place for demolished monuments by Dec. 19.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district administration initiated creation of a Soviet-era park in the territory of the district, using Soviet-era monuments if they are pulled down.

The district administration proposed relocating these monuments in Alexander Pushkin Park.

Earlier the Kyiv city state administration initiated pulling down of 27 Soviet-era monuments located in Kyiv, including 17 monuments to Vladimir Lenin, two to Nadia Krupska, two to Feliks Dzerzhynskyi, one to Stanislav Kosior, one to Hryhorii Petrivskyi and one to Mykhailo Kalinin.
