Kyiv to introduce payment for elevator advertising

The Kyiv city state administration will introduce payment for elevator advertising in residential houses, the Kyiv city state administration's press-service told Ukrainian News citing the related provision.

The Kyiv city state administration has approved the procedure for placing and charging elevator advertising.

The payment will consist of a single charge for an ad licence and monthly payments for using ad areas.

The licence for elevator advertising in a 6 - 10-storey building costs UAH 400 for an A4 ad, UAH 2,000 for A3 and UAH 4,000 for A2.

The ad in over 10-storey residential houses is worth UAH 500 for A4 ads, UAH 2,500 for A3, and UAH 5,000 for A2.

The monthly payment for using ad areas in 6 - 10-storey buildings is UAH 50 for A4 ads, UAH 250 for A3, UAH 500 for A2, in the houses having more than 10 storeys UAH 60, 300 and 600 respectively.

To get a licence an ad service customer must apply to a housing office with a model of an advertising board and its sketch.

The licence shall be agreed with an elevator service organization.

According to the Kyiv city state administration, the funds received from elevator advertising will be channeled for repairing and replacing of city elevators.

There are 19,452 elevators in Kyiv's residential houses including 9,462 (48.6%) of 20 years service life, 3,57 (18.4%) between 20 - 25 years of service life, 6,421 (33%) over 25 years.

The Ukrliftservice, OTIS and district municipal enterprises operate Kyiv's elevators.

As Ukrainian News reported, there over 86,000 elevators in Ukraine, 32% of which with the service life of over 25 years.
