Kyiv’s mayor office warned the residents not to drink kvas sold out of barrels in the streets after conducting an inspection of eight such barrels in Holosiyivsky district of Kyiv.

Kvas is a traditional fermented drink made out of bread of grain. The mayor’s press service saidnone of the barrels had permission of local authorities for trade, health inspection permits and other documents required by law.

The inspections were conducted because of the resident’s complaints about the quality of the drink sold in Kyiv, and ill effects for their health after its consumption.
