Average price per square meter in Kyiv down 10.6 percent in second quarter

The average price per square meter in a one- to three-room flat on the secondary housing market in Kyiv in U.S dollars in April to June 2009 fell by 10.59%, and as of July 1, 2009 was $1,494 per square meter, according to a press release of Kyiv-based SV Development consulting company.

A fall in prices for secondary housing was observed in all districts of Kyiv.

The maximum fall in the price of one square meter was recorded in Pechersky District at 12.05%, where the average price of one square meter was $2,512. The minimum fall in the price of one square meter was registered in Podilsky District at 9.17%, where the average price of one square meter was $1,379.

Darnytsky District remained the cheapest in terms of average prices, where the average price of one square meter over the period was $1,100, and Pechersky District remained the most expensive in average prices, where the average price of one square meter over the period was $2,512.

The company said while analyzing the secondary market prices its specialists took into account prices for secondary housing on the results of actual deals, but not general market prices.
