portal.duf.hu For making calls inside Ukraine, subscribers will no longer have to dial ‘8’ before the area code or a mobile phone number.

Changes to the dialing format passed by the Ministry of Transport and Communications last year will come into effect Oct 14.

After dialing ‘0’, wait for the long beep before proceeding with the rest of the number.


The price of calls will not change.


Also, the Kyiv region’s area code ‘44’ will change to ‘45’ from Oct 14. The capital’s area code ‘44’ will remain unchanged. For example, to call a subscriber in Brovary, Kyiv region, replace ‘8-044-94-subscriber’s number’ with ‘0-45-94-subscriber’s number’.


The rules of dialing short 3-digit voice numbers and the rules of dialing short SMS numbers remain the same.

Dialing the numbers of information lines and help lines in the format 8-800, 8-900 and 8-703 will change to 0-800, 0-900 and 0-703, respectively.

No changes have been made to international dialing formats when calling Ukraine from abroad.
