Kyiv residents will pay reduced rates for hot running water and heating starting from November 1, first deputy head of Kyiv City State Administration Anatoliy Holubchenko has said.

"I once again confirm that the rates for heat and hot running water will be reduced starting from November 1," the Kyiv City State Administration quoted the official as saying on Friday.

He noted that Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky signed a relevant resolution on October 15. It will soon be published in the municipal newspaper Khreschatyk, and in December Kyiv residents will pay for heat and hot water at new reduced rates.

The new reduced rates will be effective until May 2010.
