One hundred and seventy-two coaches and two railway trains are reportedly on their way to Kyiv carrying about 6,500 Party of Regions supporters, most of them from Crimea, to join declared rallies, Ukraine's Deputy Interior Minister Oleksandr Savchenko said at a news conference on Monday.

"We have been informed that such trains are being organized and we'll be ready for their arrival. But we are not sure whether they will arrive after all," he said.

"There are no trained athletes among these people. Just ordinary citizens," Savchenko added.

About 2,000 Party of Regions sympathizers are currently accommodated at holiday homes in and outside Kyiv, and they are likely to remain there until the inauguration ceremony, he said, adding that those who arrive by train will take part in rallies and return home.

Two trains are expected to arrive from Crimea, while coaches are to bring Party of Regions supporters from Kharkiv, Donetsk, Poltava and Zhytomyr regions, he said.

The Yulia Tymoshenko political bloc [BYT] has filed two applications to hold rallies, he said.

"But no information is available that anyone is going to Kyiv to rally under the BYT flag," Savchenko said.
