A scuffle occurred between two groups of men Siaivo bookshop at 6 Chervonoarmiiska (Velyka Vasylkivska) Street in Kyiv on Feb. 9 morning.

In the morning nearly 20 men gathered near the Siaivo bookshop, which was seized by another group of men in the evening of Monday.

At about 11:30, the former group burst into the bookstore with a cry "Glory Ukraine, Glory Heroes!"

The scuffle between the two groups of men followed.

As a result of the scuffle, the latter group managed to take three of four men from the bookshop.

Four policemen watched the development of the situation at a distance.

Soon after the scuffle, MP Kyrylo Kulykov of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense bloc faction arrived in the bookshop accompanied by his aides.

He said the actions of men who seized the bookstore and drove away the personnel of the bookstore on Monday were illegal.

Policemen are at the front door of the bookshop at present.
The bookstore is closed for all except for the press, MPs, and policemen.

As earlier reported, Member of Parliament Kyrylo Kulykov of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense bloc faction has told Ukrainian News masked unidentified people seized rooms of Siaivo bookshop, at 6 Chervonoarmiiska (Velyka Vasylkivska) Street in Kyiv on Monday evening.

In his words, several unidentified people in masks burst into the shop at about 8pm, pushed the staff outside and locked themselves in the shop from inside.

After that, the shop personnel called police, which are now staying at the shop too.

As to Kulykov, the people in the shop refuse the police to open the door.

Siaivo bookshop is demanding the commercial court of Kyiv to revoke privatisation of the shop premises at 6 Chervonoarmiiska (Velyka Vasylkivska) Street by Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district state administration.

The district administration proposed to carry out an official investigation into legality of actions by officials from its communal property department, privatisation and entrepreneurship during the sale of the shop floors.

In September 2009, the department sold Siaivo floors of 383 square meters at an auction to Abril-studio limited liability company for Hr 2.248 million.
