Germany's Lufthansa has cancelled Kyiv-Frankfurt and Kyiv-Munich flights scheduled for Feb. 22. A posting on the official Web site of Boryspil International Airport sys that planes were to fly to Frankfurt at 1315 and at 1620 and 2240 to Munich.

"Lufthansa is doing everything possible to inform its clients quickly and propose alternatives to them to reach their destination. Passengers who booked tickets for Lufthansa flights from February 22 to February 25 can rebook tickets for another Lufthansa flight free of charge. However, this can be done only if yjr tickets were bought before February 18, the new trip can be made before May 31, 2010, and the point of departure and destination remain unchanged," reads a press release of the carrier.

The report says that the pilot strike does not affect companies that are operating with Lufthansa on code-sharing terms.

Over 4,00 Lufthansa pilots announced a strike on Monday to support their claims for a pay increase.

Lufthansa spokeswoman Stefanie Stotz said that the strike would be held until Thursday.
