Representatives from the Ukrainian national patriotic organizations are picketing the presidential administration on Friday in a bid to prevent the withdrawal of the Hero of Ukraine titles from Roman Shukhevych and Stepan Bandera.

Around 300 people from about 16 public organizations are taking part in the rally, according to the estimates by law enforcement authorities.

Protestors also demand to preserve the fundamental principles of nationhood, independence, territorial integrity, the status of Ukrainian as the only official language and to prevent further presence of the Black Sea Fleet in the country, an Interfax correspondent said.

They are holding national flags, black red flags, as well as banners saying: "No to Russification, yes to independence," "No to the country's division," "Shukhevych and Bandera were, are and will be Heroes of Ukraine," and "No to Russia's Black Sea Fleet."
