Kyiv District Administrative Court has banned a number of public and religious organizations from holding mass rallies in downtown Kyiv during U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit to Ukraine.

The main department of domestic policy at Kyiv City State Administration told Interfax-Ukraine that it had received a request from the Presidential Administration, the main department of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry’s office in Kyiv, as well as the State Guard Department, to restrict the holding of mass rallies in places where official state activities will take place in connection with Clinton’s visit to Ukraine on July 2-3. In particular, this concerns the holding of mass rallies outside the buildings of the Presidential Administration and the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament.

Taking into account such a request, the main department of domestic policy at Kyiv City State Administration lodged an appeal at Kyiv District Administrative Court.
