Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All-Russia and Patriarch Filaret of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kyiv Patriarchate on July 28 celebrate the 1022nd anniversary of the baptism of Kyivan Rus.
Scheduled events:
09:00: A Divine Liturgy on Soborna Square of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra Monastery will take place (being covered live on First National TV Channel from 08:45).
10:00: A Divine Liturgy to mark the Day of the Baptism of the Kyivan Rus (St. Volodymyr Cathedral, 20 Shevchenko Boulevard). Patriarchate Filaret will head the service.
12:00: A sacred procession of Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kyiv Patriarchate followers from the St. Volodymyr Cathedral to the Monument to Prince Volodymyr will take place after the liturgy.
15:30: Patriarch Kirill returns to Moscow.
