Kyiv's Funicular cable railroad is to be closed from September 1 through October 1, 2010, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reported on Friday.

Acting City Head Oleksandr Popov signed a relevant resolution on routine repair work on the funicular cable railroad.

According to the resolution, within a month municipal enterprise Kyivpastrans, which services the facility, is to carry out the planned works on the cable railroad: an examination and routine repairs.

Routine repair work is conducted every year on Kyiv's funicular cable railroad to ensure its further safe operation, the press service reported.

Kyiv's Funicular was built in 1905 to connect by the shortest route two large districts of the city: the Upper City and Podil.
