The cost of one fare on Kyiv's subway increased 30 kopeks to Hr 2 on Sept. 6.

Municipal authorities had earlier announced the fare increase, which was delayed as the subway administration executives haggled over the details in late August with city and government authorities.

The price of a monthly travel card will remain Hr 95 and Hr 48 for reduced-fare cards for students. The fares in Kyiv above-ground transport haven't changed - Hr 1.50 for one trip in a bus, a trolley-bus, a tram and the funicular cable railroad.

The new fares were introduced in compliance with a ruling of the District Court of Kyiv dated April 15 2010.
