Kyiv city has sold stakes in OJSC Kyivvodokanal and OJSC Kyivgaz, which belonged to the city territorial community, the Prosecutor General's Office has reported in an appeal to Pechersk District Court submitted on September 2 and posted in the single state register of court rulings.

"In the period from December 2009 to March 2010 officials of the chief department of municipal property of Kyiv, the executive body of Kyiv city administration, with the help of officials of the Ukrainian Universal Commodity Exchange, evidently abusing their power and acting deliberately in the interests of third parties (the New Region financial company Ltd.) illegally sold stakes in OJSC Kyivvodokanal and OJSC Kyivgaz to New Region," reads a court ruling, referring to materials of the appeal.

The Prosecutor General's Office said that the budget failed to receive Hr 16.365 million.

As reported, last week it was reported that an 80% stake in OJSC Kyivmiskbud Holding was sold in July 2009 under the same scheme.
